You're getting downvoted, but Onn really is a better device at $20. I'd been searching for the cheapest android TV device (for smartTube) and was surprised to see how many people recommending that over google's own device. I've had the Onn for over a month and it's been completely flawless and performance has been excellent.
Shit deal.
The onn android box at $20 is a much better deal.

already have this one. the convenience of the added remote is better with the latest version for around 40 when on sale.

how's the native YouTube app on these? I've had to stop using YouTube on my PS4 because a minimum of 2 15 second ads play every 2 minutes, no matter the video

The Chromecast Ultra 4K + Stadia controller for $22.22 w/ FS was truly the best deal.

A good gaming controller for $2 more. Get the periodically free games from the Epic Games Store, and you have hundreds of games and a normally $69.00 controller for $2.

What would you even do with a remote in this thing? I think you are confused about what this product is/does.
Lol. Lets us ponder why every other media streamer in existence has a remote control. 😂😂😆😆

I wish they still had Chromecast audio available. I use mine every day and if it dies I'll be stuck without a device for me home multi-room audio system.

I'm tempted by the 4K because Google locked down the 6Pro to not be able to stream the phone to fireTV.
You can "hack" a standard Chromecast by extracting the audio from the HDMI signal. Cheap way with a HDMI to VGA adapter. It will have a 3.5mm out as well as VGA. Usually need to short a pair of pins on the VGA connector with a staple or something.

I've never actually had a Chromecast Audio but the above mentioned setup was working great for me. Arguably more flexible as you can cast audio from YouTube for example.

This is nice for casting but the Chromecast with Google TV is incredible since you can navigate all of your streaming services from one platform plus casting etc (quickly/efficiently - plus it comes with a remote which is really convenient and handy over using your phone). Another new update was just released to speed it up even more (link below). I think the next model codenamed "Boreal" comes out possibly at the end of the year. If you need a solid streaming platform I wouldn't wait and would get the Chromecast with Google TV now, I also expect it to get discounted right before the new model comes out in the Fall or Winter (it's cheap enough I'd just pick it up now personally).

I'm still using a Chromecast Ultra from years ago, along with my smart LG OLED and haven't had a need for any upgrade.

Although I just started re-using my 10+ year old Yamaha receiver which could use some streaming help or just an overall receiver upgrade...

The $20 4K Onn Android TV from Walmart and the $40 to $50 Google TV have apps. They both are 4k and have a remote. You can cast to them also.</p>

I use HDMI to RCA adapters with Chromecast ultra and that also works great

I don't see you answering the question about what you would even use the remote to do. Are you confusing this with a fire stick or the one with Google TV? This is not the same kind of thing and if you think so you shouldn't be buying it.

I live my 4k onn google TV. You can walk into any Walmart and they're often $20 only with a remote.

Are you saying you can you use the Stadia controller for something other than Stadia now?

Btw...why does the more expensive one come with a remote? Hmmmmm?? 😆

Because it runs Google TV, as indicated by the name of the product explicitly containing that information. A remote would be quite useful for a Google TV device. Now, again, can you tell me what you would use a remote for with THIS product, not a different one?

It's hilarious how when the first chromecast came out everyone was defending the fact that using your phone as a remote was revolutionary and the way to go. One less device to lose or worry about, I always have my phone on me yada yada yada. Now...well, people upgrade their devices just for the new remote lmao.
