Praise for Cosmos

"Magnificent . . . With a lyrical literary style, and a range that touches almost all aspects of human knowledge, Cosmos often seems too good to be true."The Plain Dealer

"Sagan is an astronomer with one eye on the stars, another on history, and a third—his mind's—on the human condition."Newsday

"Brilliant in its scope and provocative in its suggestions . . . shimmers with a sense of wonder."The Miami Herald

"Sagan dazzles the mind with the miracle of our survival, framed by the stately galaxies of space."Cosmopolitan

"Enticing . . . iridescent . . . imaginatively illustrated."The New York Times Book Review

Let's compare apples to apples. This is a deal on a digital book. My library system does not carry this book digitally on Libby. Again, absolutely no reason for ignorant comments.
The movie was Contact, this is Cosmos, a sci documentary.

Sagan is dearly missed, he talked much about pseudoscience, medical and political tyranny and talked about a balanced approach to the changes in the climate. He was not left or right, did not demonize or promote censorship those who did not agree with him.

We need more the likes of him today!

I just digitized the VHS version of Cosmos, it has the original music and artwork/graphics and the KCET, ARCO and Arthur Vining Davis Foundation intros.

Great deal.... and a good way to use expiring No Rush Credits at Amazon. Just can't seem to figure out why MY credits aren't being applied here, lol.

Updated: Amazon has changed the process... at least on my smartphone. It showed $1.99 with no eligible credits being applied until AFTER I hit the Buy button. Credits were applied once I did that, so it kinda took a leap of faith that things would work out - which it did. I seem to recall that the price shown before committing to purchase was the price with credits applied, and that might be a difference between a mobile device and a PC, but still....

tl;dr - Cosmos is eligible for No Rush Credits

I have this book I bought when the show was new. 1980-ish or so.

Sagan was such a great science presenter.
Damn you indifferent universe for not giving him more time! Thank you for keeping Attenborough around for a long time though!

I don't get how those credits work sometimes. I had like $8 in no rush credits and went to buy a Kindle book last week, but it would only apply $1 of it? And this was on PC, so it's not an app glitch. I'm having no such issue trying to buy this e-book.

My copy is all beat up, no covers and ragged outside pages. Just got this one with credits and will probably toss the hard copy. There are many nuggets in the book, was just outside and I remembered this one: "if god exists, he has a thing for beetles".

Usually you see price for ebook or video with already applied credits. Open the same page in incognito mode without sign in to see full price
