I'll return to nest when they get an app separate from Google Home. Compared to the nest app it's such a poor user experience, but the 2nd gen cams are incompatible with the app that bears their name. What a dumb decision by Google.

Googles dumb decisions go far beyond that of the app. They discontinued every wired outdoor camera they sold. So now if you want an outdoor camera you have to put some where easily accessible so you can charge the battery… not even a single option for wired

Google still has a wired option. They just want you to pay $35+ for the wire...

The wireless outdoor cameras can be operated as wired. And Nest will provide two more free cables if you ask.
