Obviously these will be slow compared to cpus in the past couple years...but the people buying these are buying them for the reliability and build quality in a system used for office or school work. Those are tasks these systems handle well. You also get a MUCH better screen than you would in most modern systems under $500. I recently bought a refurbished Latitude 7490 myself and it was immaculate. The refurbisher had also packed in a new battery. 8-10 hours of run time in a 250 dollar system that can do everything from spreadsheets to video and audio editing with a nice 300 nit screen isn't bad at all. And no flimsy keyboard to deal with.

These will probably last longer than brand new budget consumer laptops. Business grade devices tend to be more durable and repairable.

These are nice units... I picked up a couple with i5-8350u, 16gb RAM and 256Gb SSD for $250 each a couple of weeks ago for my kids to use for school... the units looked nearly new and came with USB-C chargers...

I went ahead and ordered a unit this morning with i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD for $275 and got $40 back using AMEX deal... never hurts to have a spare...

Not complaining but just FYI that this i5 processor is over 5 year old and has a benchmark of only 5924 and supports RAM speed of 2400MHz

You wouldn't happen to have the link for the i7 version?

Do Amex offers work on Dell's refurbished site? I thought it had to be Dell.com

and cpu benchmark is terribly low rating, even low for 5 years ago. but i can see where these would be good for kids and school.

These laptops got to be from expired corporate lease. Good value if you don't mind the longevity.

Dell had a massive liquidation two years ago when I got a 7390(new, non touch, i5, 8gb, 3 year factory warranty) for $400.

Have been a happy user for two years. My non-touch 7390 only has one ram slot which takes upto 16gb ram, and has a LAN port. Display and keyboard and build quality are decent.

Recently I got a new HP elitebook with Ryzen 5xxx which obviously is significantly faster, and made the Dell my backup.

They don't appear to have any in stock right now... neither any with 16Gb RAM... their inventory is constantly changing, so just keep checking...
