Deal Details
AAFES is having a sale on select Garmin Fenix 7 series watches.

I know the 7x Sapphire Solar in Carbon Grey is $749:

The 7 Sapphire Solar in black is $654:

There may be others on sale as well, I didn't look through the 7S series at all. I was hoping for a deal on the epix, but no luck!

I'm curious about the -1 "deal score." Am I missing something? Please link a better deal if you're going to down rate my post!

Probably just people grumpy about not having a military account for this deal. I've been obsessively tracking Fenix prices and except for a brief $549 price point on the base Fenix 7 at ascentcycles your deal posting is the lowest price I've seen, especially on the Sapphire Solar version Good find. Too bad I don't qualify for membership there.

I don't see the issue. If they want the deal, they can enlist or commission!

I'm tempted by the deal, but I really want that Epix screen! It's not that hard to plug in your watch for 45 minutes every 6 days 😁

FWIW, the screen on the 7X is readable in all conditions. Others I know say the Epix really is not 6 days without managing the screen on time and GPS. Still better than others, but not quite 6 full days. They also all use raise-to-wake to get extra battery time. I tried the Epix, and the biggest difference was in map detail due to the DPI. If maps are not your biggest use factor, 7X is a very good option.

Thank you for this post! It made me think a lot about Epix vs Fenix 7x.... Initially I really wanted the Epix, but your post and some posts from others on YouTube made me realize the "point" of a good smartwatch and fitness tracker.... They both capture information equally, the only difference is the display, and if both displays are very readable, they do the job of conveying information to the user equally well! The flashlight and the battery life on the 7x wins.... (For me).

I picked up a barely used perfect condition sapphire 7x solar this weekend. I had no idea how much better this screen is compared to my prior 5x plus sapphire. It's so much more readable with much better contrast. I'm very happy with it!
