Best cat food for the value is Costco's Kirkland cat food [costco.com] which for me is $22.99 in the store ($1.09/lb). To me, it looks like Iam's cat food, but possibly with a little more oil added to it?

My cat's don't *love* it, but they eat it and don't complain; I've only recently switched to this after researching cat food. I have five indoor-only cats, they are free-fed dry and get wet food as a treat.

* The cheap cat food is sprayed/coated to trick the cats into eating it, they *think* they are getting something delicious, but it's full of crap their bodies don't need. Because they don't get the protein and proper nutrition from the cheap food, they eat more of it, usually puke it up (and the cheap stuff stains carpeting), and poop more (which is also stinkier).

Better quality cat food, they won't eat as much (cost-saving) because it contains the nutrition they need. If they do happen to puke it up, it doesn't stain the carpet. They poop less often and it's not as stinky.

I've have over 50 years of experience with loving my various cats, the above info is related to that.

The food that I buy for mine:
Costco's Kirkland
Iam's
Purina One
Nutro
Blue Buffalo (when there is a good deal; not many these days)
Target's Kindfull (my cat's don't eat this as much as the other's if they have a choice between two brands)
If you must go cheap, then Purina Naturals seems to be okay.

* Stay away from Meow Mix, Kit n'Kaboodle, Friskies, 9 Lives, etc - you think you're getting a good deal, but you're not.

Side tip - best deal for cat litter is Target's brand [target.com] in the bucket 35lbs for $12 (10% off order pick-up this week's sale; otherwise they'll have "Buy 2, get $5 gift card" fairly often).
Hi MrSkeptic - I found this deal on my own and posted it 'cause I think it's slick. Just to be clear, no one tells me what deals to post. I've been a community member for a long time and so have a pretty decent idea what constitutes a slick deal (though sometimes I'm wrong, ha). I understand you're skeptic and that's okay. Best to you!
Sorry I fed my cat this "trash" for 21 years and she did great. Only reason she is dead is bc my wife ran her over!

What's good? We just got a kitten and we are feeding him Purina One +Plus Healthy Kitten formula.

What about moist wood?
I only feed my cats raw strips of flesh from my enemies (and sometimes neighbors) that I keep hanging upside down in my garage.

I agree. I used to feed Meow Mix to my many barn cats. They always looked scraggly, skinny and unhealthy. My sister said to feed them Purina Cat Chow (also not a "perfect" choice, but much better than Meow Mix), so I did. They started gaining weight and looking much better. That was the only change I made so I know it was the Meow Mix that was keeping them unhealthy.

The Purina One you're buying is a great option for the hard to beat quality/price balane. Purina Pro Plan is a little better if you can afford it. Royal Canin is a good option for wet food for your kitten as well, or Purina One Pro Plan. I've fostered about 100 cats and the mix of Purina One/Pro Plan + Royal Canin helps them stay healthy with a great coat.
Thanks, I don't understand why they downvoted you?
Regarding the Purina Pro Plan, are these like diet plans that go with different meals?
The shelter told us leave his dry food out throughout the day, and give him wet food half can in the morning half in the evening, ours don't eat that much it's a 4 month old kitten.

He just came from the shelter, I don't know what they were feeding them there, he passes gas and it stinks.

It is not $1.09/lb but 25 lb at $36.99 at Costco. Be accurate when reporting!

Pro Plan is just a slightly higher quality line from Purina, a notch above Purine One. A little wet food 2x a day is a good routine for a 4 month old. Kittens will eat often so leaving out the dry food is common. It's also normal for some kittens to have stinky gas and poop, usually that will (mostly) go away as they age. You can also try switching the wet food for a different flavor or brand and see if that helps. If it persists you can discuss with a vet. Hope you're enjoying the little kitty!

Its actually both, not sure which ones more but like others posted, its not that impactful. The more you know👨 🎓

SD pocketing ad funds from the manufacturer, no doubt.

significantly less protein than average
significantly more carbohydrates than average

Questionable Ingredients
whole ground corn
soybean meal
corn gluten meal
• Cats cannot digest this crap.

Poor quality ingredients: by-products

My barn cats get other nutrition from eating lizards, mice, gophers, snakes, birds...

Thank you! We love the kitty. I hope he loves us, he purrs, sleeps on our lap/next to us, and sometimes tries to groom us by licking/nibbling. Smilie

I think Netfix should just stick to streaming movies, not making documentaries or slapping netflix name to everything they can by. Some documentaries are full of filler, just like the burgers we buy.. a lot of dramatization too. I am not sure about impact of cows in our lives but there is always some agenda behind every documentary, they are more likely to steer you one way or another, instead of being objective and let you decide. How about they give us the facts and we decide, nooooo, they have to tell us this is bad, this is good. Done.
