Critically, the negative feedback loop which hurts these type of ultra low power systems built as Windows PCs is that current Windows 10/11 quickly uses the majority of the 4GB RAM space so, upon loading your first application (Chrome/Edge/whatever), the system starts hitting the page file / virtual memory / the much slower SSD as RAM. And the CPU that has to service those requests was already over-tasked with supporting basic Windows functionality.
Consider two alternatives:
- A windows PC with a proven ability as a general purpose PC (typically one with a 4-core i-series CPU). Dell has had a couple of great refurb deals (here and here) just in the past few days. "DOUBLE THE PRICE!" someone will exclaim, but the fact is that systems like the ones lined earlier will perform for years in the same way that people with ancient i5 PCs boot every day and happily run Office and browse the web without complaint. Few if any Atom-based systems provide a lot of usability as long-term daily driver personal PCs.
- A chromebook with comparable (if not better) specifications for the price (link here to a recent barn-burner). The simple fact is that the lightweight nature of ChromeOS means that underpowered CPUs and "small" RAM footprints produce less of an issue in day-to-day usage. If the needs can be accomplished with a web browser and Android support, a chromebook is a strong contender.

The benchmarks for the Celeron 5100 are significantly higher than the AMD you linked to.
Recently I purchased a few used Thinkpad T470 (NOT the T470S) at about $150 each. 8GB / 256 GB. add $20 for another 8GB RAM. WAY faster than these eMMC craps.
I choose T470 because it has two batteries. even if the internal battery is completely dead, you can easily get an external battery for about $30.
