Acer nitro series have really good fan controls build in. The only thing I'd do in addition to buying this laptop would be to upgrade the ram to 32gb (2x16gb). Good deal otherwise!

I have an older one from 2020ish and love it. Going to replace in the near future and would do a nitro again for sure.

6lbs ugh. Seriously, would a nicer dGPU and cooling in an LG Gram really amount to an additional 3+ lbs? What is LG doing that these other vendors aren't?

Had nitro with the easy broken hinges. Not sure if the hinges now get better. Otherwise it's not bad.

Yes, the heatsinks and fans for the dGPU and to keep the CPU from thermal throttling are 80% of the weight difference, the rest is adding enough battery cells to be able to run for more than 10 minutes with the dGPU enabled.

Is there any concern of the GPU not getting enough power? I know some lower priced laptops have that issues sometimes, not too sure why that happens

Edit - I see 140 W TGP for the GPU in the original post, so I think it's not a concern here

This or the acer swift edge below? Not too heavy on gaming, I think AMD 780M would suffice for me. The swift edge also has a much prettier screen and is lighter. Not much of a price difference though unfortunately...

I have the model w/ the 4070 in it & replaced one of the 8GB sticks w/ a 32GB crucial stick and have had no issue. I'm rocking 40GB of RAM now. If others are looking to upgrade the RAM, which i'm assuming most will, I would recommend doing this so you can retain some of the RAM from ACER to increase your overall memory. The 2x16GB kits are about the same price as the 32GB sticks.

They are so vastly different in terms of gaming performance that they're not even remotely comparable. The 780M APU is not even in the same universe as the RTX 4060 when it comes to gaming performance.

You're much better off sharing the types of games you want to play when asking for comparisons like this otherwise nobody can give you an answer.
