After looking through previous posts, this hacked price seems like a decent deal if you just need the tool only. I hope this helps someone.

The Milwaukee M12 FUEL SURGE 1/4 in. Hex Hydraulic Driver is the industry's first 12-Volt hydraulic impact driver. Featuring the FLUID-DRIVE Hydraulic Powertrain, the hydraulic impact will allow users to experience operation up to 2X quieter with less vibration for smoother and faster driving speeds compared to standard impacts. The compact size of the tool and battery provides users with unmatched access in tight spaces & allows for easy transport on a tool belt and easy fitting into a job site tool bag. Performance is not sacrificed despite lower peak torque due to its Longer Sustained Torque that allows the tool to complete core users most common applications. The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor delivers up to 0 RPM-3,000 RPM with constant power output to drive screws faster. Built-in REDLINK PLUS intelligence is the most advanced electronic system on the market, preventing damage to the user's tool and battery caused by overloading or overheating. The cordless impact driver is compatible with all Milwaukee M12 REDLITHIUM Compact Batteries or Extended Capacity Batteries, delivering users with more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack than competitive batteries. The impact driver's 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL provides users with greater control over output speed and power for greater versatility in a wide range of applications. Self-Tapping Screw Mode reduces walking when users are self-tapping screws as well as reduces overdriving, breaking and stripping out screws.
FLUID-DRIVE hydraulic powertrain reduces metal on metal contact within the tool, delivering quieter operation, smoother performance and increased durability over a standard impact
Longer sustained torque delivers similar drive times in application as most 12-Volt impact drivers
Up to 2X quieter operation makes this tool ideal for occupied spaces
Compact head length and compact battery footprint gives more access than competitive impact drivers
POWERSTATE brushless motor delivers maximum power and long motor life
REDLINK PLUS intelligence prevents damage to the tool and battery due to overloading or overheating
REDLITHIUM batteries deliver more work per charge and more work over the life of the battery
Includes: 2551-20 (tool-only), belt clip

It's a pretty good deal. I picked one up earlier and nice especially compared to the normal m12 impact driver.

Have been waiting for an M12 Surge deal. Love my M18 Surge so have been looking to add the smaller one. So much quieter than a standard impact driver.

Is it only quieter, or are there some other advantages? I have a M12 Fuel impact, and I don't like that it basically only impacts. I could tell how tight my screws were with my old-school driver based on it bogging down.

I use the self-tapping mode if I just want to drive something down fast. Otherwise, I couldn't live without the 3 impact modes preventing me from stripping out sensitive work. If you're a mechanic/construction worker, get a bigger tool.

I haven't used the SURGE model yet, but what I had read when it came out was it's quieter and possibly loses some power due to the changes. I considered the upgrade when I was mostly hanging network/security devices in nice offices while people were working but never pulled the trigger.

If I can't find any better deals I still may upgrade...

I don't think this is a good deal. You can get the regular Fuel impact driver WITH a 6.0 battery for $99. Even cheaper if you don't want the battery and hack it. The only advantage to the surge model is it's a little quieter, but with less power.

How do you get the 6.0 battery with it for $99?

Right below where it says the price, click the free gift and it pops up a new window to select the battery.

Probably the best tool for regular screwing. We use them at work for installing monitors, tv wall mounts etc in commercial environments. I have the standard M12 impact and I cannot use it in most areas due to the sound. A few friends got the surge when it came out and is quiet enough to use in offices where people are working... Pretty amazing stuff

I have the non-surge M12 Fuel impact driver and I've been happy with the performance, but it is definitely very loud. I primarily use it indoors and any time I'm driving screws into wood, like driving drywall screws, I wear hearing protection. If you want to see a video breakdown of the differences between the Fuel and the Fuel Surge impact drivers, I recommend this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kblPg-qi5Gs

Gist is, the Fuel is a little more powerful, drives a little faster, and it is 4 ounces lighter. The Fuel Surge is half as loud as the Fuel and drives a little smoother since it's hydraulic rather than the traditional hammer and anvil mechanism, and it is a bit more power hungry, so it will suck up more battery power. I am definitely considering getting the Surge just for the noise alone - while the Fuel isn't at dangerous decibel levels (around 101db), I just don't like how loud it is, and the noise is amplified by the fact that the majority of what I'm doing is indoors.

If you don't mind the noise or just wearing some earplugs, I'd definitely save the money and get the Fuel version.

You can purchase in store or online. You just have to return item you don't want. Or, select pick up at one store for item you want and another store for item you don't want. HD will cancel unwanted item after 7 days or you can call and cancel after you pick up item you want.

I don't think this is a good deal. I've bought full kit (case, charger, (2) batteries 2A) for $125.
