Yes, this is a 2021 model. But the price is great. I bought my LG OLED from Walts a few years ago. No issues with the order at all. They are based in Arizona and an authorized LG dealer. Free shipping.

Most people want c1 or newer for the 120hz panel.

Basically, LG has an A, B, C and G OLED panel release every year.
  • A is 60Hz and uses last gen processor
  • B is 120Hz, uses last gen processor and is brighter
  • C is 120Hz, uses current gen processor and is even brighter
  • G is 120Hz, uses current gen processor & crazy flat for flush wall mounts.
C is generally the most popular panel, due to a good balance of features and frequent sales. Great for PS5 / Xbox Series X as well.

If you don't game, the A1 is pretty much identical for cheaper

Compared to the $2200 I spent for my A80 77, this for $500 cheaper is a no brainer

The C1 removes judder from movies and can get up to 250 nits brighter in HDR mode. The A series never gets to 500 nits, while the C series almost hits 800 in some scenes. (Compared to say a Samsung Q90 series that hits almost 1700 nits). The Samsung is great in very bright rooms. If you game, you absolutely want the C series. It will do 4k at 120hz 4:4:4 with a 2.3ms response time. Rtings has a nice comparison.

Are they still doing B panels? I haven't seen one discussed since like 2017 or 2018? I had one, so I know they existed at one point... but lately, it's just been the A/C/G panels I've seen promoted.

The only real difference is that A1 has a 60Hz panel instead of 120Hz and lacks VRR. But for anything except gaming, you wouldnt notice a difference. You're not going to find a 77" C1 for under 2k.

B series also are 120Hz panels that support 4k gaming. Main difference between B and C are only 2 HDMI 2.1 vs 4 and the C series uses their latest processor which is good for cleaning up lower quality content.

I own a BX and CX model, extremely similar tvs. If you can find a B series for $500 less than the C imo it's worth it.

With that said, the New C2 appears to be an Evo panel and has separated itself further from the B lineup.

For almost $2k I would suggest the Sony A80J if you can find it for that price.

That's not all the information , "A" series uses older processor plus has significantly lower peak brightness vs the "C".

A80J from Sony is a much better tv and of course anything higher from LG Oled as well
