I own this… understand something though, it's $12.88. Which means it is not that good lol. Please don't buy it and expect it to be a quality train. I bought this knowing it's not good, so when my toddler smashes it I won't be mad. That being said, it looks great surrounding a Christmas tree!

I don't like AG13. It's popular and common but not rechargeable. So keep replacing kinda thing.

3 kind of batteries. wow.

Yikes indeed, by the time the Christmas decorations come down, you'll end up spending 3 times the cost of the train in batteries.

Terrible reviews on the remote. Invest in a used Lionel set on FBM. Sometimes even a little good money towards a bad product isn't a good idea. A first train set can make or break a hobby.

That's what I was considering it for...so you're saying it's big enough to go under a tree?

I open up the one that's not working and see how it work and possible to fix it. It's quite educational.

I also see a trend, old products and toys are made to last while newer ones are made to pass the 30 days period.

The cheapest Lionel train I see is $100. Average train set is around 300$. How does that come close to comparing to 12$?

It doesn't. It's a little more than a tank of gas. Or get a used Polar Express battery powered Lionel. Those are less. You'll break your kids heart when that remote breaks in a week.

Thumbs down for perpetuating to kids the use of a dirty fossil fuel (coal) as a responsible energy source.

KIDDING, KIDDING
I say buy a hundred of them. String them together. Strap a camera to the engine. And go to Arby's with the profits from your YouTube channel.
