Fans that attacked elden ring for being the same or this or that were haters. Im sure this was a great game, I couldn't beat the first boss no matter how hard I tried. I beat elden ring looked back at this like it was the best idea ever not to force you to fight a boss without the options of leveling up. I wonder if I go back knowing what i know now if I could beat him.
This is the easiest Dark Souls. That doesn't mean it's easy. I just found it to be the easiest (I mean Dark Souls, specifically. Elden Ring is by far the easiest Souls-like game). This was actually the first game of its kind that I beat, and it's when I fell in love with FromSoftware games. It doesn't have a PS5 upgrade, but it does run at 60fps on PS5. Also, for anyone who cares, you'll see some videos on YouTube, saying that it's in HDR, but it's not. Those idiots are using the PS5's "HDR Always On" option. That's not HDR and it washes out the image in games and movies. Why that's even an option is beyond me.

It just takes practice. This was the first Dark Souls game I beat. I kept giving up on the others, and finally decided to really stick with it and learn the bosses' moves. Once I beat this, I went back to the others and I've now beaten every Souls game, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring. Elden Ring was way too easy, because you could just go farm and level up all you wanted. These older games required you to actually learn how to play them, rather than letting you just get overpowered really quickly. Just stick with it. You might surprise yourself. It feels so good and earned when you finally do beat the bosses. Just go in knowing that you're going to die a lot, and just accept it.
Game is relatively easy if you follow a walkthrough. It doesn't explain tactics and that's why it feels too hard. I suck at hard games and I was able to finish this in two weeks using walkthrough
Not sure how to compare it, never played it on ps4. What I can say is that it is not as pretty as the demon souls remake, and the load times are significantly longer than Elden or Demon. 60FPS locked, but I am so spoiled with FPS that it only looks bad when it is lower than that.
This will take your soul, regurgitate it back to you, make you rage quit over and over, come back for more, and at some point it will all make sense and you become a GOD!
This is the easiest of the series. It's much more fast paced than 1 & 2 and a lot more forgiving with invulnerability frames during rolls. The checkpoint system is pretty generous as well and most locations are actually pretty easy to sprint through while dodging enemies to get to the next area. I really enjoyed this game and the way the levels kept looping back in on themselves in unique ways always surprised me. I also loved the secret areas and the organic way they introduce them to the player (spoiler: especially the bridge that's also a ladder when cut).

I concur, Dark souls 2 had the most competitive pvp experience out of all the soul's series, but the beginning level designs were lacking somewhat.

It runs at a locked 60fps. That's the only difference. The load times are the same as PS4 and it's still 1080p.
There's no PS5 version/upgrade for this game. It just plays via backwards compatibility and the power of the PS5 helps keep the frame rate steady.
