Not sure about this model, but it replaced the model that had the unfortunate liquid metal overapplication issue. Once applied properly the thermals were great, supposedly. It also came with a mixed bag of ram and to get the excellent performance you needed to replace the stock ram. Again, not sure if this model has that issue. I'd imagine it easily could. I don't see any liquid metal complaints on the best buy reviews. The reviews that are there are all QC complaints, which sadly is to be expected these days, especially with Asus. I'm surprised to see a "rep" responding, and actually pretty thrilled about it. Anyhow I'd look up the reviews for this model regarding issues with ram and LM before buying but if it's similar to its predecessor it should smoke a 3070 gpu laptop often coming close to a 3080. Unless something major changed. But I don't see anything to indicate that from the specs. For $1300 it's a killer price imo.

I needed a new laptop an wanted to get one that I could do some gaming on…. But I've read all sorts of comments about thermals and countless people returning these asus laptops and I got the recent $1600 MacBook Pro deal instead. Obviously apples and oranges, but I am not able to deal with purchasing and returns etc; I just needed a solid laptop with good QC.
