In my experience, the rubber brushes at the bottom are not good for pet hair. They just make it into lumps and drop it in random places around the floor. If you have pets, the 690 with the old brushes works a lot better.

Does this MAP?
The unit DOES NOT have mapping capabilities. The only way it will find it's way back to its charging base is by line-of-site. In other words, it has to randomly get close enough for it's IR sensor to "see" the charging base. If it doesn't find it in time, it will die wherever it's battery runs out. If that happens to be under the couch…. So, PUT THE BASE IN A ROOM THAT THE ROBOT OFTEN ENDS UP IN! For us it's the kitchen. Lot's of ways in and out of there, and Roomba ends up there quite a bit. When the battery gets low it will automatically go into homing mode and dock as soon as it's in range. It's really satisfying when you hear that happy little chime it makes when it docks and you get that notification on your phone that says "Roomba Has Completed a Job!"

I have an I7 and it does similar (rolls not lumps)
I'd still call that a 10/10, as they're easy to pick up while walking around
LIDAR/Mapping is revolutionary for robot vacuums. This one does not have it. Look for something else.
My in-laws have this model and don't even use it anymore. I have a budget iHome Nova & it's drastically better even though it's a cheap brand (because it has LIDAR).
I bought the i7 refurb from Roomba on ebay a while back when there was a 15% off code. I didn't spring for the auto empty base and I regret that. I LOVE the mapping feature. I am able to tell Alexa to tell Roomba to clean "under the bed" since that's what I named the zone. I do that a lot more than a full clean since that seems to be where my cat hair accumulates the most. Looking for a deal on the self emptying bin by itself, they want $249 for it from Roomba directly. I prefer to do a full clean while I'm not home since it is pretty loud, sucks that the bin needs to be emptied mid job though.

This. Do not get a vacuum without LIDAR for any price. I have a Roomba without one, and it gets annoying that it bumps into everything and takes a lot longer to clean versus my Roborock with LIDAR that can clean an area in a fraction of the time.
Buying a cheap vacuum without LIDAR is like buying a cheap VCR when everyone moved over the Blu-Ray.

And it does pick a ton up, it just sometimes leaves presents
(again, mine is the i7, a higher model. I can't speak to this one specifically but to my appreciation of smart vaccines as a whole)
