If you are a cool season lawn, throw down your cheapest high nitrogen fert after your last mow. Your lawn won't use it until next spring. The term winterizer is just a marketing term. In the spring thrown down a crabgrass preventer when soil temps reach 50-55 degrees

Do you need to add this along with anything else to prep for the winter or this is it?

Was thinking of doing just that, waiting until after all leaves have fallen and dumping this stuff before the snow hits. Any advice on what to do about crab grass now, as opposed to in the spring? Have a large section of lawn where crabgrass just took off this year, want to nuke it for the spring.
Also anyone know of a good spreader for this stuff? My last one was 20+yrs old and fell apart earlier in the season.

Crabgrass dies off in late fall and winter at least it does every year for me in mid Atlantic. In early spring put down the crab grass pre emergent.

I'm planning to fertilize and apply prodiamine (pre-emergent) in the fall to prep for winter/next year.
Note, I'm a rookie a year into my home's lawn reno.
