So easy to jump on and purchase if not for that one thing. Great price regardless though.

If you're running a machine for kids or a plex / storage server this is perfect. Low power and no need to buy a GPU.

My answer to this hypothetical question is, you should return and re-order if you want without remorse, and that is because Amazon doesn't have a price adjust/match policy like almost every other retailer, and trust me when I tell you that they are not losing a penny here...
Either give me a good discount and clear your stock, or bite the bullet and let your inventory go rancid because you weren't willing to compromise. It's just plain stupid that they want to nickel and dime you with these fluctuating prices, it's insane, they are giving a discount based on demand, too much people ordering? Reel back the discount. Too few? Go all in, fork the ones that ordered high.
A few smarty-pants around may say "welcome to capitalism".. well, capitalism can be played both ways, and if they wanna be petty, then so can I... it's not about money, it's about sending them a message and the principle. One can only hope that someone with a brain over there gets the message and say "did you notice these fluctuating discounts spanned over days cause an increase in returns, and the cost of giving them a price adjustment policy is far less than the cost of shipping/return/re-shipping?"

If I search Amazon right now, I see 3 $80 fairly reviewed B450 motherboards that should be able to run a 5600G either out of the box (according to some reviews and replies saying it came with updated bios) or you could take advantage of the AMD loaner program:
https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100
Is this still not a reasonable price? Honest question, I haven't bought a motherboard in 5 years...

But I would never pass on the opportunity of sticking it to Amazon
