These are fairly long lasting under normal beach conditions. They are also extremely light to pack. By far the most popular beach umbrella. Like 50-75% of the umbrella on the beach are this umbrella.

But pro-tip. The sand anchor base sucks. Buy a $20 sand anchor on amazon like this

Rip off the plastic one that comes with the umbrella. Then you keep the sand anchor attached to it. If the umbrella breaks, use the sand anchor on your next umbrella.

That sand anchor on amazon is easy to put in the sand, easy to remove, and the umbrella will not tip over.

I have 2 of these; they're okay. I wish the material in the sand anchor was more durable for more effortless screwing and weight distribution but you get what you pay for.

I'm a big fan of the matching beach seats, though. If those are also on clearance, I highly recommend them

I bought these a couple of weeks ago after using them at rental houses in Nantucket. If you don't know, Nantucket has some crazy wind on the beach and these things have a fold out cross to help screw it into the sand—

These umbrellas screw deep and stay down. I have not had one fly away yet

Save your money. These are worthless when the wind starts blowing. There are better options.

This appears to be the plastic arms underneath the canopy part. As someone who lives at the beach, I would not recommend these; they snap and fold. You would want to get the aluminum arms underneath the canopy.

i know. the diameter. 8 is too big for me and the beach in general. 6 would be perfect. i'm always alone and don't even use a proper umbrella. i use modded 5' handheld golf umbrella from ikea but it's better than $5 cheap garbage from 5-below i used to buy every year. I want good quality 6'.

Greensboro NC has a ton of the umbrellas but they are still 29.97. they have chairs as well which I can attest are pretty cool. I also have a tummy Bahama beach cart- personally I don't like any of his clothes or any of that mess but I do like his beach equipment.

Regarding wind: It has a vent for gusts of wind, so better than most. And the sand screw is stout. But I wouldn't take ANY umbrella out in 15mph+ winds. Some people have windy beaches.. we don't have that here.
