I have one of these. It's great, I love it. I bought a desk top from Amazon, drilled some extra cable management holes in it, added an under-desk cable organizer (a cable 'taco'), and I'm good to go.

I have the old 29.5 by 59 Linnmon table top from Ikea. Any reason I couldn't attach it to this?

Would something like 74" IKEA KARLBY countertop work well on this? The KARLBY has a weight of 63 lbs but I am not sure if it would be okay width wise.
From the specs:
Minimum Assembled Dimensions 27.6" x 39.4" x 28.7"
Maximum Assembled Dimensions 27.6" x 63.0" x 48.4"
I suppose it is L x W x H. I wish these guys learn from Chinese websites such as AliExpress. Even for few dollar items, they give you some 5 page description with all possible dimensions with great pictures.
But I don't see why it would not be possible. Center the wood to the center of the frame so that overhang on all four sides are the least possible. While using, don't put all your weights on the edges. Especially, when you happen to find a part_r and got the mood, don't use the table as a support mechanism.
But again, you also need to check how far the monitor might get pushed in and your reading distance preference. From the recommended size, I can see why they want the users to keep the depth (front to back) same as frame (since that is where you will be putting your weight / force and hoping that there won't be much force on the two sides. That of course assumes you won't do what I think is a possibility too. When you are worried about something, you need to look into all possibilities!

My single motor never failed but the dual motor between v1 and v2 failed, rma 3 times. Save your box because they required you to ship it back, I had to disassemble the dual motor with all my stuff on it, send it back, wait for replacement to be shipped. Basically you know what that feels like, take apart everything and put it back
Isn't it worth it to spend a little more for dual motor?
I have both, single motor im using a 72" table top, dual motor, Im using the 84" table. From the old thread, the v2 dual has anti collision issue where when you go up, it goes up a little and start going down. Thats what I RMA mine for. You can disable that feature, but who knows what else would go wrong. If you get the dual, highly suggest you save the box for the length of warranty. I had to pull a HP rack server back to send my back the first time. Also fedex return is a btch to deal with.. every ups pickup/dropoff place takes package for free, fedex holding site charges for accepting your package.

I actually ordered a different one from Amazon that is a dual motor and wasn't much more money. From what I read, they are all made in China regardless.

Honestly, I think they're all about the same. Some might come with pre-drilled holes but I wouldn't expect them to fit exactly anyway.
I ordered from this company: unicoousa.com Their customer service was pretty responsive and good, have to say.
There are two standard sizes that most companies sell, I forget the dimensions exactly, but the smaller standard size was too small and the larger size was too large (or longer in the wrong dimension, I forget). I wanted one that was in between and took forever but eventually found it.
I drilled some extra cable management holes in the back but otherwise easy peasy.
