Got the 8" from the last deal. As with everything Knipex makes it's extremely well built, and a decent amount of leverage, but will only cut very small gauge stuff. Jaws slip on anything larger than 3/16"s Can't cut a 1/4" cable or rod.

Thanks for the info. I just canceled. I'll wait for a deal on a full size bolt cutter...

I usually do not worry about where a tool was made when I'm looking at Knipex but as I was browsing through the bolt cutters on Amazon, this one [amazon.com] caught my attention because it had listed the Country of Origin as: CHINA while the rest of them did not list any County or Origin information at all.

Thought I would point that out to anyone that some if not all of these Knipex bolt cutters were made in China.

That Amazon page is incorrect. Those are made in Germany.

Sure hope so, I have lots of Knipex tools and I would hate to think that some of them were made in China.

Now I'm not saying all China made tools are no good but I paid more for these Knipex tools mainly because they were NOT made in China.

Jeff is correct. Guaranteed these are made in Germany. One of the only Knipex pliers I've ever seen NOT made in Germany were some less expensive Knipex wire strippers that were Made in Taiwan. Otherwise, most every plier that bears the Knipex brand name will be made in Wuppertal, Germany. ✌🏻

Thanks for the confirmation and BTW, from personal experience, Made in Taiwan items are usually much much much better than Made in China.
