The $149 price is in store only. I picked one up at my local store last week. With the military discount and no sales tax (tax free holiday on select tools in Florida), I felt it was worth it, but these have gone for around $100 in the past via the infamous hack.

The $229 kit with battery is Gen 3, 3497-22 [homedepot.com]. If you like to know the difference between the two, here is the reference [protoolreviews.com].3497-22 is $178.39 after returning the battery gift. This is still a decent deal, after all, Gen 2 is good enough for DIYers. I ended up keeping the Gen 2 with Installation and returned the Gen 3 package.

If you can wait until the holidays, the gen 3 combo kit will be $142 with hack.
