Word. Hold fast.

* Nvidia just had a call with the CEO where they admitted to restricting sell in to keep inventories reduced and prices artificially high before 4XXX release Facepalm

Demand is extremely weak with mining crashing, they have an oversupply of 3XXX they're restricting, the new gen is nearly here, AMD competition is as high as it's been in a long time, and the used market is about to tsunami with miner cards.

The ingredients for the best buyer's market in a VERY long time is upon us, and somehow people are even considering paying MSRP for nearly outdated tech is insanity.

I agree but i don't think the flood of 2nd hand cards really effects the primary market. They will be out there but I think Nvidia comes in with the newer lower priced MSRP versions of these cards soon.

While I generally agree, I just want to mention that this particular card is unique as being the only 3070 that can fit in some mITX cases. Zotac could decide to stop production at any time and should this or its OC sibling disappear from the market the only alternative would be a 3060 or 3060 Ti.

I suppose that is a consideration...although as you mentioned, the 3060 Ti is an alternative, which I'd highly recommend over a 3070 at these prices and at this time. The performance gap between it and the 3070 is small, it's regularly $100 less expensive new right now, you could get one from someone other than Zotac, and with its higher abundance and declining prices, it should be quite easy to find hundreds less than this in the near future and still fit into a mITX case.

Looks like those new mid range cards are made to tackle Intel's release of their new GPUs. Ngreedia is just the best at knowing how to corner the market to their favor and preserving their mindshare.

Are you talking about thickness or length of the card? I have a 3080Ti XC3 that fits into my ITX case. There is the 3070 FE model that is only 2 slots wide but not commonly instock. It doesn't sell well because the 3060Ti is a better performance/$$ ratio card for $100 less as mentioned above. The 3070 became an odd card to go for because the 3060Ti and 3080 were priced competitively against AMD's offerings that it didn't make sense to pick up a 3070 for the little performance you get over a 3060Ti.

nvidia lost all respect. The whole market was built on miners who cared less about gamers.

now that the ethereum change is happening this week nobody is buying gpu's for mining. there is like zero profit to be made now for miners so GPU market will be flooded with used graphics cards and new GPU's will be fairly easy to find.

My prediction is AMD undersells Nvidia and gives them a run for their money. I'm waiting to see what these 6900xt sells for. AMD on top I called it first

You are right on that. So just now, I realized. Nvidia can't hold back the release of the 4070 because they over ordered the chip supply from TSMC. So in order to not devalue 30 series cards, they have to raise the price of the 4070. So in order to not piss off or soften the blow to consumers/PC gamers, they are going to change the tier number. Enter the 4080 12GB card, which has lower number of cores than the 4080 16GB card (the real and should be the only 4080 model card). A lot of people are asking why the hell are they releasing a 12GB 4080???? Might as well call the whole line 4080. 4080 16GB, 4080 12GB, 4080 10GB, 4080 8GB. 8800GTX, 8800GT, 8800GTS, 8800GS

Yeah, looking at that story I posted earlier in the thread, they're going to be re-releasing those 3070s and 3060 variants at likely lower MSRP. Specifically, that story went on to say that the 3060 and the 3060 TI will be hamstrung compared to their current versions.

They really make a game out of all this. I hate that Nvidia so darn dominant. I want to buy AMD just to help dislodge their dominance.
