Amazon currently has the Roland Aerophone Pro (AE-30) on sale for $1,249.99. This is 17% off its typical retail price, and this is the lowest I've ever seen this instrument posted anywhere. This is a professional-grade wind synthesizer instrument that utilizes Roland's SuperNATURAL sound modeling technology and ZEN-Core Synthesis System. Very similar to the recently released AE-20, but with some more advanced features including programmable motion sensor and full MIDI I/O port. Additional details on the instrument itself can be found on Roland's website: https://www.roland.com/us/products/aerophone_pro/ [roland.com]

it's a cool instrument, and while I understand that the price reflects the extremely low sales volume, it's just still so high that no one already deep into woodwinds could try it.

something like this really shouldn't push over $300-400 at the very top.

Not to defend Roland's pricing, but they do offer other lesser models in different price ranges. This Pro model is their flagship and uses the same/similar synth engine used in their synth keyboards. Their entry-level model (Aerophone Mini AE-01) can be found for about $300, and while it won't have a vast library of onboard sounds, I believe it still has Bluetooth MIDI capabilities to play/record through a DAW or MIDI workstation.

I know the instrument itself and the price range is outside of most SD'ers here, but just figured I'd share anyways since it's the lowest price I've seen all this year through an authorized retailer.
