When I got a Refurb Shark vacuum from Buydig (Shark Vertex), it came shipped from factory as refurb but had a very bad odor as well as having a bunch of dirt/hair/dust stuck on the roller and in the housing. I had to do a full intensive cleaning of the unit and purchased a new roller for it as it was pretty gross. More "used" than "refurbished." Buydig gave me a partial refund to keep me from just returning the whole thing.

i have one, and it works well for the most part, but recently started clogging more often at the bottom of the tube. Still pretty good for 1 dog 2 cats and a lot of fur.

It's ok. Not quite as good as one with a soft brush roll, but it has a hard floor setting, which essentially just slows the speed of the brush roll so it doesn't scatter everything everywhere. Overall it is good.
Thanks for the reply. Looking for a decent quick light floor cleaner for my aging parents within reasonable budget, but I will keep looking.

Btw someone mentioned get a corded one for heavy or large pet hair.. i dont have pets but I love my shark vertex, dual roller 1 soft brush and 1 bristled/blades. Its just heavy and i dislike that often about it, but it cleans multiscenarios and floors amazingly. As someone above me said they got it in more used and nasty condition than a refurbished, I would suggest a new one if anyone goes that route.

I have a refurb Dyson V6 that I purchased for $149 off of eBay but I think the V6 model is hard to find now. Try a V7 or V8 if you can get one at a decent price for your parents. Fluffy head works like a charm on hard floors.

Hard to decide for tile floors mostly. I have a larger vac for the couple medium size rugs anyway. But so many out there...I need a compact like this BUT one that detaches and can work as a handheld(like a dust buster) as well

That brand is some cheap generic cordless vacuum. The shark is designed to actually pick up dirt with power and has some replaceable parts. Battery vacuums should not be going to no name brands.
Search "vacuum wars" on YouTube and stop embarrassing yourself.

I'm trying this. I have a shark navigator that I've been very happy with but I want a cordless for when I'm lazy. Hope it's decent.
My exact combo. Navigator for a big cleaning day. But honestly. It collects dust. We find ourselves reaching for this every time. It's been great. Thing pulls hard.
