Here is another bike on clearance for $98 free s/h (was 398).

Men's 27.5" Decathlon ST100 [walmart.com]

I realize this is not the same level of the original post but good deal for a bike.

LOL at thumbs down. Some people will down anything…

"You've saved $10 with WOWFRESH promo code"

Amex Everyday Bluecash supposedly 3% for online orders, YMMV if this counts for pickup...

In for one. I bought a bike for $20 that needed work yesterday....so that's backburner now LOL.

How does this compare to the Costco boss mtb, which was recently sold for 269?

I ordered this bike, and I am having it shipped to the house. I would rather put my own bike together than some tired Walmart employees. Plus it's a good way to familiarize myself with my purchase. I really enjoyed this guy's 30 minute assembly video of the axum bike.

I don't expect the best bike ever, but it should be nice enough for me and my meager needs.

To you more experienced riders... I am 6'2" with 34-35" inseam....hope this is a good size for me. I would be using it as a road bike with some light trails. Does it sound like it would meet my needs ? I dont ride much at all.
Too small for you

Is this not usable on road at all? Just wondering if it can be used around the neighborhood and some simple trails?

This seems like a better deal than the OP deal
Is this a good bike for someone who is just getting into biking?

How much does it cost to assemble these bikes... I am not much of a biker, had only one which I picked from store pre-assembled
Learn to assemble. It will teach you fix it on the fly when things go south.

It's useable on the road. Just less efficient work/distance ratio.

It will do fine. If you will be using it mostly on pavement, perhaps it worths upgrading the tires to some semi-slicks ala Maxxis Hookworms. Still plenty of grip for dirt paths, especially if you lower pressures a bit, but will roll notably easier (and more silent) on pavement.

29ers are not the most comfortable bikes for shorter adults & kids. Might be the most efficient wheel size for racing and knarly tech climbs, but if a medium-large bike frame is too big for a rider, chances are that they should stick with 27.5" wheels, and if really young, even 26".
