This is a good price for a "meh" but fully serviceable bike - not mountain bike. Surely capable to ride around in city trails, commute etc while focusing at the lowest possible price, just don't try to follow your seasoned MTB friends on single track with this...think of it as "gravel" bike at best.

This is also not a $400 MSRP bike by any stretch of imagination, this is a $120-150 bike, or at least it was pre-pandemic.

Good value for riding around the neighborhood or gifting to a wife or a kid that won't try crazy shit on it.
I've seen this bike. There's a few of them in the endcap bike display. It seemed an odd looking bike at first, that's why I stopped and looked at it. Then I started comparing it with the 26" Schwinn next to it and figured out this 27.5" bike is a 26" bike with a extended seat. Looks kind of dorky IMO, like a low rider bike with long seat pipe.. You might want to look at it first before purchase. The $90-something Roadmaster looked better to me. Just my 2 cents.

It seems like a decent price for someone that casually rides like me.

This is a pretty good deal I'd say. I don't think it was ever worth the MSRP, but it's certainly a fine bike for $100.

I bought this a few months ago for $198. I don't know much about bikes but it seems nicer than my wife's $100 Walmart Roadmaster bike, so for $98 I'd say it's totally worth it if you need a basic bike. I do not plan on using this for actual mountain biking, just riding around town, parks and some dirt/gravel trails with my family.

I tried chatting with Walmart customer service about getting a price adjustment since it's still within the return period. After a lot of back and forth (first offered me a $5 promo code, then offered to help me with a return/rebuy) they finally offered me a $50 refund (best they could do apparently). It's not the full difference but it was worth it for a little bit of my time and not having to return/rebuy.

Well, just went for the medium for my son. Hope it's the right size. 90 day return... Gets it close to Christmas but not close enough! With the risk 😁

By chance did you check the tire size? I think they would have to be 27.5 to call it that size of bike. The product page says they are.

I would put some road tires on this one like what I have on my 26-inch MT bike (Schwinn from WM).
I am no slouch on it on bike trails but with larger diameter wheels/tires, it would be easier and I would sit up a little higher. I did see what you mean as well about the long seat post looking funny.
