https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMl5PMSecNk Here is a comparison between 6600, 6600xt, 6650xt with ryzen 5 3600 on either 1080p or 1440p.

My guess at this point is there's probably only 50 more to drop across the line until the next gen stuff is so common that it gets a price break.

The drops aren't fixed because some GPUs have a slimmer margin of profit while others are fat in profit margins. It's a gradual progression in the amount of discounts from large in the high end to lower discounts in the midrange and low end. You may see another $20 to $50 discount on the midrange cards over the next few months, while the high end 6900XT and 3090 cards will see at least another $100 off in the next month or two. I don't believe the new 40 series cards will lower the 30 series value, especially since Nvidia plans on renaming the 4070 into a 4080 12GB. The used market will be the one to determine the outcome of prices. It's hard to look at a $800 brand new 4080 12GB or a 4080 16GB for $900 when you can get a used 3090 for $600 on the used market (maybe lower), or a used 3080 12GB for $450-$500. We're about to enter a golden age of PC gamers having so much GPUs to pick out from. Consoles or Nvidia be damned.

That's a good point. I suppose in my head I was thinking in the 250-400 bracket, mostly because they're the ones falling into the prices of the average buyer. High end prices can swing wildly for no reason other than they have a ton of margin on them.

Nvidia made a large order for the high end cards because any GPU was selling before it even reached the shelf because GPUs were like money trees that grew money. They wanted the highest profits. Now miners aren't touching any GPU, so we got A LOT of high end cards in warehouses.

It's an extremely bizarre typo on the Amazon page that should be removed from this thread title immediately. Everywhere else on the page says the correct amount, 8 GB. The MSI page [msi.com] is also correct [msi.com].

Even one of the Amazon reviews mentions it.

This is the worst thing I have ever witnessed in the last 24 hours.

If you paying over $250 for 6xxx 3xxx gens you are getting rip jacked. Retail needs to price lower and mfg need to be taught a lesson in pricing and fairness by a 5year boycott of discrete gpu cards
