Hue costs more than other brands but they have literally been flawless for me. I've had them for years now and never once an issue.

I don't have this particular one, and I was hesitant to get any smart bulbs after a bad experience with Wyze bulbs but I'm glad I gave Philips a try. They work seamlessly and I've never I've literally never had any problems since setting them up.

I saw someone say three years ago:

"The biggest regret I ever had was wasting time and money on other brands and trying to find a better bang for buck. In the end, I finally bought Hue after many wasted dollars on other brands and I've never been happier."

I am sure a true, better, maybe cheaper competitor to Hue will one day emerge but for most lighting products, they are worth the premium.

Also, Reddit has a /r/Hue subreddit for questions.

+1 for Hue products. Pricier but haven't had any issues with the items I have owned over the years.

Good price? Can't find them on Amazon to compare. I really could use these!

They didn't show up for me in Amazon's search either, but Google helped: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Hu...B07D8B2YSM

Looks like current price is $80, so a modest 25% discount. CCC puts the historical price at $130, with a one-time low of $104, but it looks like the price history is absent from late 2020-onward.

Best price I've seen on PAR 38 Hue was $27/pair without the fixture. If you think the fixture is worth $30ish, this is a good price.

I've wasted enough money on singleton wifi/Bluetooth bulbs and after finally caving to the cult of Hue I wish I'd have saved my time and money and never dealt with the others.

Once you set it all up, which is sometimes a pain with the hub but ultimately fairly simple, it just works. Other than Kasa (tp-link) smart plugs and switches, this is all I run.

Buying this for sure to replace my dumb alley light that requires constant tweaking of little dials that make no sense. Thanks OP 🤘🏼

These are the white bulbs only though right? Not the color. If color I'd probably jump on it.

I broken down and got my first hue hub+starter pack many years ago, and slowly got some of the basic white ambiance bulbs or such, but after getting a deal on some of the first gen lightstrips I was sold on hue. That and years ago I had issues with so many things on wifi with the basic access points I swore I'd never get a wifi bulb. The hue bulbs have been fantastic. Only downside is they're hard to control if the internet goes out as I only have two of the hue switches that talk directly to the hub (so as long as the hub and lights have power you can control that way).

I think the fixture is "non-smart". Only the bulbs are smart.
So, it will be the same as replacing the bulbs on an existing outdoor light set with Hue bulbs and no need spend extra on the fixture.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct. The bulbs have the brains. The fixture is just a piece of metal. I don't need the fixture, so I'm passing on this deal. But if you need both, it's a pretty good deal. Not amazing.

I believe this is the cheapest it has been from woot. Usually it's 70 bucks. The bulbs work well and the fixture is decent. They throw out a lot of light. I have been happy with my purchase. Needed new fixtures and wanted smart bulbs.

You have to buy separate motion sensors is the main knock on these.

I've had at least some since the first generation, now days every bulb I can practically replace is a hue bulb. My best friend has a similar number(25ish) of bulbs for the last ten or so years as well. We have each had one generation one bulb fail so far. So they do have a limited lifespan, but prices have dropped dramatically since those days. The only other issue I've had with them is geofencing feature has never worked very well, roughly 50-60% of the time not at all.
