From everything I've read, the s8 processor is 20% faster than the s5, not the previous generation.

The s6, s7, and s8 all have the same cpu and memory, but have minor changes for the accelerometer and other sensors.

Yeah, it's dissapointing because I listen to a lot of audiobooks and music while I run. 32GB is the max memory on these and would be nice to have 64 or 128gb considering it's a $700 watch... and a faster CPU to help load books faster, it takes hours.

at this price point you might as well get the ultra right? especially if you're military/veteran, it's $697 at apple's store after 3% cash back from apple card

Coming from a Series 3 42mm to a Series 8 45mm is absolutely night and day. So while they haven't upgrading the processor in the last three years, I'm not sure they really needed to. Battery life still leaves something to be desired, but my Ultra gets here on the 23rd and I'm eager to compare.

After upgrading my s4 alum to s8 alum I will most likely drop a gen to the s7 and get ss. The s7 ss will be the sweet spot this fall at around $400-$450

I'm in the same boat, looking for a deal on a 45mm SS S7 coming from an S4 Aluminum. Checked out the Ultra today and I might be tempted if I can't find a deal on the S7.

would be nice to see some more SS deals. 45mm SS7 at $549 and SS8 at $749 is still a bit too steep given the fall off on the used markets in the used markets.

Where did you see the SS7 for $549? The cheapest have see it is $650. I'm talking about brand new here. I'll be tempted at $549 if I see anywhere.

$549 for apple refurb on the s7 ss. Not much as far as new s7 ss price progression.
