Actually it's not. Sounds like what you're thinking of is "water resistant." Water repellent umbrellas are actually different. They're made so the water doesn't sit on the fabric, so that when you close your umbrella, you're not having water splash all over yourself.

Saying "water repellent" umbrella is like saying "drying" towel.

Home Depot has nice larger umbrellas that are $5.99 regular price. Oh, they are water repellant too 🙃

Tote was just $6 the other day for the same size. Also i think this may have been the one i added as a filler for free shipping and its a crappy umbrella not worth more than $2-3 imo. i think it previously advertised as auto close and its not. walmart told me to just keep it and i dont even want it (will donate)

GustBuster is a good brand and they make large sizes. Sometimes you can find a deal on one with some random logo on it on ebay.
