Ah, it shows at final checkout. Doi'
Reviews say good quality sound but blue LED lights that you can't turn off. I need a pair for the office so that's fine w/ me!

They're..... eh.... adequate. They're small, but for their size sound perfectly okay. As y'all have surmised, audio runs from the 3.5mm pin and the USB is for power. You need both. They're not necessarily designed to be portable, so wherever you park these you may find, as I did, that you may prefer to have a dedicated USB power source for them rather than tying up one from the PC itself.
They do the job. If I had a need for another pair I'd get them. Heck, I might get them anyway, as I paid more for them last year ($15.63 and $18.01, Warehouse Used - Very Good) than what Woot is asking for them now and having a spare pair might prove useful down the road.

They have some base. They can actually get loud. They are clear and rich. You are not going to get a better set in the $10 range than this.
As for the LED light...... Yes, it is true, you cannot turn the light off. If you simply cannot sleep because of the blinding light from these LEDs, you might want to stop drinking that 8th cup of coffee.

According to customer reviews, the USB is only for power and 3.5mm is required for audio, so it's not really meant for devices that lack a headphone jack (I suppose you can use an adapter, but then you will need another USB port or wall adapter to supply power).
In every demo, they sound like a clock radio, or a simple midrange with a whizzer cone. Maybe 250Hz to 6000Hz.

it's a hit or miss with that since some have static sound when you are not playing. I have to get a replacement from Walmart last time.
