They are all pretty close. The 150m is the older version of the 500m. The 500m were an improvement in most people's minds as the tweeter is a bit more subdued and not as bright as the 150m. The 500m v2 (if you will) built on that and took the biggest downfall of the 500m which was the midrange, and upgraded that to be clearer. I don't think many consider it to be a whole different animal though, but that is really just my opinion.
Buy this amp. Hook it to these speakers with some cheap speaker wire. You now have "bluetooth" speakers that are much better than 95% of all "powered bluetooth" speakers you would find on Amazon. You can also plug in a usb stick with all your music on it and have it play that.

Should you use reference speakers if you wanted to add 2 more to a 5.1 to make it 7.1 or 9.1 surround sound? Or does it matter which speakers go to those areas?

Always best to match speakers to get the same timbre, but for ambient speakers you can probably save some bucks by just getting something that works. Ideally with the same type of tweeter as the rest of your setup.

These are very good prices. Hard to choose between the 2 though. 150m looks better in that color and base. I used to own 160m in oak color and the built quality was just on. I assume 500m is better quality comparatively.

The 500 is the newer model? Any other differences?

I have this klipsch set, but I bought the 5 speaker bundle. If I wanted to add to it, do these work as side speakers or should I get something else specific?

These would work great given you have the room to mount them. They are large but you know that already.

Anyone know if there are big differences between the 150 and the 500? I read the 500 II is a different animal and the 150 and 500 we're similar if not the same
