You clearly don't remember nvidia controlling the 10xx pricing or 9xx pricing pre crypto. They literally will hold prices for as long as inventory exists. They literally held the 1080 price all the way to the 3 series launch lol. Why do you think the 4070 was delayed until March next year, they forecasted out the 3080 demand.

Free market only exists when managed pricing by contract doesn't. Nvidia is notorious for holding prices as retailers will as they don't want to take a write off either.

Please hold your breath for $400 retail new 3080s...between that and cure for cancer....I bet cure for cancer.

That's the problem. Enough people will buy it when it gets into the lower 700s that I don't think prices will ever dip much into the 600s. We shall see but I think 3000 series are bottoming now. Plus, as miners sell their cards, prices will rebound once supply tightens a bit more.

I agree that 4000 prices will come down once 3000 supply normalizes, but I don't think it will come all that much actually.
