That is a good deal if you need both tools. I bought the chain saw (tool-only) for $289 when it came out, because I had some bigger tree work to do (I already had lower-end electric chainsaws, but was afraid "they couldn't cut it" -- well, they probably could, but it would be slow and tedious. This thing is great for larger needs. I'll still keep smaller ones including the new "hatchet" M12 model I just got (haven't even tried it yet.)

Since this is the kit with the 12AH battery (which costs a lot on its own) plus the pole saw and extension, it will be a great purchase if you need these items.

The 12AH battery is definitely the power that is best for this, but it will add quite a bit of weight. I used mine with a 5AH and it did the job, but it was definitely smaller than you'd want. I have an 8AH I'll use the next time I need it. Don't have a 12AH yet. (again, heavy and expensive, but a LOT of power).

if you got HD to PM, does this make the chainsaw hackable?

I'm live chatting with HD agent now to try to price match. Will update soon...
EDIT: I brought up the fact that they have/had a price match plus beat by 10% policy so...

No dice:
"I'm afraid that I won't be able to match that price with Ace, however, we do have a low price guarantee, if the price drops, we will certainly price match that lower price."

Yes, the pole saw is free, so $319 is deducted in the cart.
