Get the cleer alphas instead if you are looking for better sound quality. I've got both.

They are both good. The cleer alphas just sound better and have more advanced Bluetooth codecs(aptxHD and aptx adaptive for Android) unlike the Bose 700 which is limited to the basic codecs. Bose has an incredible marketing team. That's why they're so popular. I love my cleers! They also feel very nice to wear. You can tell from the construction of the headphones that it's high quality. The Bose 700s look and feel kinda cheap when you're comparing the two.

Montclair, CA still had at least 3 pairs 30 minutes ago.
Damn! drove to Montclair (after confirming with CS) and paid for it but could not get it.. At the pickup window, they found that they only carry the QC SE, which is a newer model at $299. The guy was about to give it to me and then found it was the wrong model. The new model is not even displayed in the store. The SE is supposed to be QC45 made for the Costco and Sams. Link is below:

You ever had these? How can you say your sonys are better?
Nope, only Sony. There are enough reviews out there regarding audio comparisons for you to watch. When it comes to bang for the buck / features, Sony takes it over Bose.

agreed. I own both Bose QC35II and Sony xm3 and while the Sony pair has a few nice features, my wife and I both vastly prefer the Bose for long wearing sessions - they're much more comfortable because of the angled driver inside the earcup.

I'm debating grabbing a pair of NC700 or the QC45s, but not sure yet. This deal will be tempting if I see it next time I'm at Costco.

I would caution against the QC45. Poorly reviewed by audiophiles. I'm not an "audiophile" per say but have been in the hobby for 2 years and have tried 30+ headphones.

The QC45 have a wonky sound signature. (Basically means their bass, mid, treble levels are uneven, off and will sound bad)

Even picky audiophiles approve of the qc35. There is a reason why they aren't clearing out the qc35's at clearance prices.

Here is an in depth comparison by audiophiles.

$199 is an EXCELLENT price for these headphones.

I had a pair for almost 2 years, and I used them all the time while traveling on airplanes. I recently passed them on to my gf. She absolutely loves them as well.

Do the ear pads split open on these just like the Bose QC 35 II's right after the year warranty is up?
Earpads on a headphone is like tires on cars.

They are meant to be replaced after a period of time.

The Bose earpads actually last FOREVER compared to others in the audiophile world. If you have a Sennheiser HD600, you could be replacing pads every 3-6 months.

There are $4k audiophile headphones that have earpads that cost $300 a pop

Bose earpads are actually very good.

This is a hot deal if you can find it in store. For those who don't mind refurbished, Bose on eBay has QC45 on sale for $190 with 2 year warranty (Bose QuietComfort 45 Noise Cancelling Headphones, Certified Refurbished 17817841085 | eBay). I swapped my XM4 for the QC45 since the clamping force was just unbearable for anything over an hour.

nme with the QC 35 II's, I take care of my electronics, did not exercise or use them for long periods of time and handled them carefully, at $349 I expected more than a year of light use before the ear pads leather split open on both sides.

Check pics on Amazon reviews this is a known issue from multiple buyers and Bose could care less. My experience fwiw.

The Bose QC SE are on sale now at $219 @ Costco. I decided to go for them over the refurbished QC45s for $195 at eBay.
