That 6900 XT on sale today was tempting but I am going to wait for the prices to drop.

This seems to be the normal price now for this MSI I keep seeing their cards for around this cost over and over.

as temping as this is, looks like both RX 7k and NV 4k will about double performance plus all kinds of other enhancements. If the RX 7700 XT is about 500-600ish, I'd say double RC 6700 XT might still be worth it esp considering the longevity.

That's assuming they even launch a 7700 XT! They might copy Nvidia and just go 5-10% cheaper.

Keep in mind that the Intel Arc A770 will be openly available in about 2 weeks if the rumors are right. This is very similar performance to 6700xt / 6800 non-XT, and drivers will still have a lot of headroom for improvements. No doubt the A770 has some risk but the price will have to adjust for it, and that'll in turn have a deflationary pull on similar performance cards.
Video showing same performance as RTX 3070 as of early August: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1WuYeQiSfU

Intel ARC has proven to only be the alpha test so far so nobody in their right mind should buy their GPUs unless they love the tinkering and can afford it's issues

I agree I would stay away from Intel for now, but I still think it stands a fair chance of applying downward pressure on prices.

The moment it's a full retail launch and you can go buy at BB there will be a flurry of new reviews going over all concerns with a fine tooth comb. Arc is not "alpha" and arguably isn't even "beta" now. The main concerns are still overall driver stability and also performance in legacy titles. Once it gets into the hands of thousands of real users, it'll quickly be clear how it's doing. Often the biggest improvements in a product are right before release.

I don't think AMD or Nvidia care about Intel right now, but maybe in a year or 2 they might compete a tiny bit in the mid-lower tier.

I like AMD a lot BUT if you can hold your wallet prices can drop even further by the time November comes.

I bought my 6900xt at MSRP but I will be happy for everyone if they get a steal of a deal by holding.

You can do this people!

The 6650xt is looking like the best deal so far. $280 for a killer ass card.
