Oatmeal and a couple versions of tried soup? Seems pricey??
I see you don't understand any of the core assumptions about when this food is meant to be used for
Can't I just buy a cylinder of quakers oatmeal and vacuum seal it? It would suck, but that would likely last me longer than 3 days.

No, my strategy is to hunt down the preppers and take their stuff.
I don't know about that one. I know of some pretty hardcore preppers who have the goods to put a serious dent in your plan. They know that they have targets on their backs and have even prepped for it. So best of luck with your plan.

Peak refuel are the only brand of freeze dried meals I've found with a good protein selection. I have a 30 day supply I bought from them, pricey but worth it if it's ever needed.

They are packaging the food without oxygen (using nitrogen and/or absorber packets) so that nothing organic can possibly reproduce and no oxidation can occur. Yes a good vacuum seal will get most foods to last a long time but not the 20+ years you get when you properly remove ALL the oxygen. Normal dry goods properly stored will last 3-5 years, if you plan to use the food before that then yeah this kind of emergency kit is overpriced.
Agreed. If one knows how to store food properly with good rotation. This seems to look like an overpriced bucket. On a side note, I eat 15 year old rice that tastes like the day we bought it all the time. Storing food properly just takes a little time and really isn't that hard. Tons of decent YouTube videos out there for those that would like to learn. Best of luck.

Brown rice is bad for prepping. It has an oily outer layer that spoils. White rice is the way to go for emergency stock.
White rice lasts longer than brown rice, but brown still lasts a decent amount of time. While white rice will last several years if not decades, I've eaten brown rice that was at least a year old (and kept in an unsealed bag) and it still tasted fine. If you keep it dry and sealed, it should last a decent amount of time (eg. Over a year). Another strategy is just to rotate your dry foods so you eat your older bags of rice and beans.

Fun fact, buying oxygen activated hand warmers and putting them in your large bags of food or buckets of food will remove any oxygen in the container.
If you do it to a bucket you may have to cut the lid off to get it open.

I hope you are just trolling, but these days one never knows because I've heard far too many people (who on the surface appear to be normal people with morals) say they would have no problem murdering innocent people if they ran out of food and supplies. I tell them there's a warm place in hell reserved for such people and it would be better to die of starvation and be able to go to heaven than murder to prolong one's life a bit longer and go to hell. Why not spend some of their own money and time to get their own supply so they won't need to rob and murder other people? It's hard for me to grasp that some people are so lazy and cheap they prefer murder over a little preparation.

If you're not trolling and actually willing to murder other people to steal their food, you are on the road to hell, but it's not too late to turn around if you haven't done it yet. I'm afraid far too many people were raised with no morals which is what happens in a permissive society which starts to reject their maker. If there are serious food shortages I'm afraid it will be non-stop murders, robberies, and home invasions nationwide. The police wouldn't be defending us because they'd be defending their own homes or running for the hills. There's a reason why fire arms sales are at all time record highs and why the Elite are trying to stop that, i.e. they don't want people able to come after them.

Fortunately the preppers are already well aware that so many evil people exist and that's why most are well armed. I wish them the best of luck defending their supplies against the wannabe murderers and thieves if this situation ever occurs.

Back in the 1930's through 1950's, including the Great Depression, if all stores suddenly were empty, most people back then would not have been running around killing and robbing each other because most people believed in the ten commandments. Most people would've worked out something and shared or traded with those who asked nicely. Nowadays this is not the case and I fear many hungry people would just break through your windows and try to blow your entire family away to take whatever you have and not even give it a second thought. If such a time arrives, if anyone breaks a window or sets foot in anyone's home, it's very likely the homeowners will shoot first and ask questions later.

Hunt down and eat the Elite so it won't happen again for a long time.
The Elite always protect themselves because they can afford to. Also, they always rise again as discussed in the book The Fourth Turning. While the Elite have caused many of our problems and have a lot of guilt, it's just as wrong to murder Elites as it is anyone else.

Yes. One inevitable thing is that justice will be served. If not in this life, then in the next. I know many people hate to hear religion and morals mentioned these days, but that is precisely why we are in the situation we're in.

lol are there videos of people opening up these 25 year shelf life food supplies in say even 10-15 years and trying to eat them?

I'd be curious on the nutritional value if it survived and was edible after that long lol.

I feel like there were infomercials as a kid selling these emergency food supplies 15-20+ years ago. Id be curious to see a video on someone opening and eating something like that now.

Except you won't do that. You'd be begging for food from those that actually took time to prepare.

You can see videos of people today opening and eating WW2 MREs. From what I remember, they say they're bland / edible, which was probably the case back then too

Has anyone ever actually had to use one of these?

In a real emergency?
