I get having custom battery enclosures for drills and other high-performance tools, you need a certain level of performance, safety, and compatibility.
But this is a flashlight - and a really low output one at that. A protected button-top 18650 is quickly becoming as common as a AA. I got four of them for $10 at Walmart in their garden center a few weeks back. So why lock yourself into Big Red's ecosystem of overpriced bespoke replacements?
Whereas you can buy a Wurkkos FC11 flashlight for around $28 with a charger + battery, gives you 1300 lumens, choice of color temperature, choice of body color, and doesn't require any "hacking" to get that price. And for the battery -- you can swap it out with an "off the shelf" protected button-top 18650.
