Red dot plus price match is the way to go. Never gonna find them in staples stores. Just replicated the deal

Your post made me want to see what I could do with Target. I decided to roll the dice and started a chat. The lady there would not price match and pulled a bunch of stuff out of her a$$. I called the number and got a really nice lady who didn't have much experience. I had to spell out how to get to staples.com (like tell her ess, tee, a, pee, elle, e, ess dot com) and guide her to where on the page the weekly ad was.

It took about 25 minutes to walk her through everything (I think she was based in India, too, so there was a bit of a language barrier), but I was able to price match the $159 Staples SE 44mm (2020, 1st gen) price to Target's 2nd Gen SE (2022). I did this by giving her the TCIN number (85973672) for that specific watch. The lady just said "Oh, apple watch SE, I see it. Yes, we'll price match it. She didn't look up to see what generation, just accepted it as being one item with no generations.

Edit: Final price: $171 and change, shipped.
