From an authorized retailer its a great deal than paying msrp and comes with mfgr warranty.

Purchasing from watchmaxx or jomashop.com at potentially a lower price sounds tempting but they do not offer mfgr warranty. Something to consider when purchasing any watch for that matter.

Hamilton honored my jomashop watch purchase for warranty when it died in the first year. It took them 3 months to fix it....

They don't have a long power reserve, so you have to pay attention to winding a bit maybe once a day. Otherwise it is a great watch and brand.

All true but we all need to keep in mind that Ashford is an authorized dealer and regularly has great deals on Hamiltons.

It's a watch that is thought highly of by collectors. It is part of the Swatch Group so it gets a version of the Powermatic 80 movement. It has an 80hr power reserve as well as an auto-winding rotor. If you wear it every third day or more, you'll never have to wind it. The Swatch Group uses this movement in many of the watch brands that they own. It is a known and trusted movement.

Watches are beginning to come back down in size. They were trending larger, but recent success with smaller case sizes (BB58) has reversed the trend. This watch, at 38MM, is a great size. Also, it has longer lugs which make the watch wear larger than the case size would indicate.

If you are interested in a Swiss mechanical watch, you can't go wrong with a Hamilton. It has a classic design, brand history, and is just a great daily wear watch. I own the silver dial version.

So do two of my Tissot's, but the Hamilton doesn't seem to run near as long for whatever reason. Again, if you just address it daily, it isn't a big deal. My tissots can go two days generally.
