I bought this chair in the spring and I returned it. I didn't like the design, and I always felt like I was about to fall out of it. With that said, there's not much risk at this price point. Plus Costco has one of the best return policies out there if you don't like it
Nice price but FYI to everyone the .00 means it's likely manager markdowns so YYMV by a lot more then anything that .97 and on general clearance.
Also, I remember seeing a recall notice last time I was at the returns desk for these chairs. Hopefully they we're all pulled and replaces with a updated version. Here is some recall info: https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2022...s-Provided

I disagree, there is a risk... a bad product is a bad product.
Imagine camping, watching your kids at a sporting event and the chair falls apart.
Sure all chairs run the risk of doing that, but if this chair is as you state, there is a higher risk.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I got the updated one. It just has more reminders to ensure the pins are inserted.
We have the version of these from Sam's Club, which looks identical except the cup holder is on the other side. I suspect they come from the same factory.
We've been using them camping for a couple of years now, and we absolutely love them. People routinely ask us about them and some family members that have tried them have gone right out and bought their own. We certainly have not experienced feeling like we're "falling out" of the chair like the other person mentioned. A few thoughts.
It's super comfortable to be able to recline the chair and relax or watch the stars. When doing so it significantly increases comfort to have a foot rest. They sell attachments for this style chair, but we prefer just to use a cooler or footstool or whatever else is around.
Using it as a regular chair (like for eating) is a bit of a mixed bag. Being able to rock is nice but you can bump into the table. There are two places to rest your arm (either on the chair itself or the top mounts). For my taste one is too low and the other too high. Neither is a huge problem.
The chairs are big. They take up significantly more space in use. Packed up they're not massive but definitely take up more space than your average camp chair. Set up and break down takes a few moments longer than a traditional chair, but isn't bad. Just make sure you get the two pins in the right place or you're going to have a very bad time.
All in all they are our favorite chairs. Durability has been pretty good through probably 2 dozen camping trips, and we're not small people. I did manage to partially tear one (trying to recline the chair while I was sitting in it--something I'm pretty sure they explicitly tell you not to do), and we replaced it immediately.
So... maybe not for everybody, but there's definitely a reason they have good reviews on both Costco and Sam's Club.
