I have the S809's with the S83 Center and absolutely love them. Zero complaints from the fam whether we are watching a movie or listening to Vinyl. Are they next level Audiophile goodness? No, but Klipsch did buy them out so that is saying something. They've been around for quite a long time and I would by these speakers again if I had to.

Do those still hit $300? I'm seeing an older $400 deal for that set. Have they been $300 in the past year?

I think this is a much better than Adoroma's bundle of $400 if you don't need either a center or the 801 pair. It would be much better to buy a better center. I have to increase the volume on it to actually understand speech in movies.
No complaints on 809, it sounds very nice compared to the price.

one look at the low budget crossovers they use was enough for me to see. the frequency response shows a wildly bright upper end (At least +6dB).

I believe he meant $400 but you could get the 809/s83/803 for $418 now if you can't wait.

Having heard them I would say the 803 for the extra $18 is well worth it.
If you can wait should be able to get the 803's for less.
