I got the 2021 model out of this TV. It's really nice. Surprised to see 2023 model getting to these prices already as 21 model was 3/4 months ago.

Just a heads up this TV is the same price through Buydig but includes a $150 Visa GC, and it comes with 4-yr accidental damage warranty.

Short answer is no. Rtings found the a80k to be actually less bright which is strange considering it has the revised Evo panel. Even so I doubt it's much of a difference. Keep your old panel.

Price matched at Best Buy and did Geek Squad 5 year coverage.

They seem to be the best considering they cover burn in and if they don't have any models they'll cut you a check for the price you paid and can pick up a new TV.

They said the A80J was dim too but I turned off light sensor, high peak brightness, and turned off power saving and that TV was blindingly bright

There's a couple other settings like gamma you can play with too that raises the brightness.

Anyone familiar with the compatibility issue between Sony TVs and RTX 30 series cards? Is it fixed?

Ah. My smooth brain didn't associate "Ultra" with UHD or "Watch" with putting eyes on.

Last year's Sony a80j and a90j supposedly not only do have evo panels (just not allowed to advertise it) but they also supposedly received cream of the crop panel shipments from LG (panels with the least amount of banding issues etc).

I can't prove any of this, have just read reports of it from "insiders" many times on AVS forums.
