Both S35VN ($100) and AUS-10 (Lite $50) versions are on sale. The lowest I've seen.
The AD-15 Lite I received was in a plastic packaging, not box.

Amazon also matches S35VN price:

I bought the AD-15 Lite on sale from Midway the other day, which is identical to the AD-15 except for the steel. The scorpion lock is strong and handle ergonomics are fine, but IMO it's a big PITA to activate and close. You have to pinch up with two fingers on the lock bar with fairly significant force to pull it off the lock pivot then flip it closed. This is an awkward, annoying, and pretty uncomfortable deploy and close process vs other methods.

Did an 8 second video [vimeo.com]showing how to easily open and close a scorpion lock with one hand.

Open the knife with the thumb stud. The lock shouldn't matter. To close, gently lift the lock with your thumb while rolling the blade in with the thumb stud or behind the jimping.Whichever is easiest for you. Gravity should do the rest. Hope this helps.

Wish I waited on purchasing the lite version. Who would have thought the regular one would be less than what the lite originally sold for
