This looks like a Costco-only (even though the resellers have marked it up and resell it on Amazon and eBay) of the TX-NR6100:

https://www.onkyousa.com/product/...-receiver/

The dynamic power output and all features are identical aside from the THX cert missing from the Costco model. I would think that it is essentially the same thing less THX.

Great deal. I had just talked a friend into a NR5100 (which is $488 on Amazon). Fortunately, I was able to save him from that mistake.

You won't check all of these boxes in this price range with anything reputable.

Ports 1-3 are labeled 8K which means they do 4K 120hz

Any big difference between this and the TSR-700? I already have the TSR and have been waiting for a second (also need a third one eventually). Can the two different brands play from the same source at the same time? Or should I just stay with Yamaha?

Not sure if two yammys could play the same source, but it's better odds than trying that with different receivers.

I've had this for 3 months now and it's kept up pretty well. No issues. I like it better than my Denon S750H from Costco as well

Are you comparing against S750 or the newer S760?

I have this receiver and the Pioneer VSX-LX305. Both are great, but has anyone else noticed they seem to "click" more than other receivers, like every half hour or so? My previous receivers didn't click this often, including previous Pioneers. Is it just a characteristic of current Onkyo/Pioneer receivers, or something worth looking into? The receivers work flawlessly otherwise.

Well, another feather in the Voxx hat of owned brands. Wonder how it'll pan out for future products under Onkyo. Love my 820 but nothing new or exciting has been put out by Onkyo in awhile. Might be a a higher end upgrade next receiver if Onkyo doesn't up the game to get back on the global market.

I'm not sure how much more "exciting" you are looking for. Last year they had 6 breakthrough products, 2 under each of their brands (Onkyo, Integra and Pioneer Elite).

Onkyo RZ50 / Integra 5.4 / Pioneer ELite LX505 (Include pre-outs)
Onkyo NR7100 / Integra 3.4 / Pioneer ELite LX305 (Without pre-outs)

Those models were the first to incorporate Dirac software at this price point. Those models (Especially the RZ50) have been rated very highly from professional reviewers.

They have introduced new flagship models this year overseas, but no official word on when they will be available in the US.

Buyer beware! Onkyo has a history of HDMI port issues and their warranty dept is not very easy to work with. I have a 4ish year old Onkyo 686 with intermittent HDMI issues that make me crazy. I'm saving for something else.
