Even for occasional use, there is still some work to be done before this bike is really ready to provide a decent ride.
For the price, you can't expect perfection, but I also didn't expect that I had to replace parts right away.

The handle bar came out of the box misaligned in relationship to the front wheel (not the pitch adjustment), but easy fix.

The back brakes were essentially seized, they do not fully return to open position even when the tension screws are adjusted to the max (even when the cable are not attached), so the brake pads were slightly touching the wheel when it's rotating, slowing you down. I had a hard time removing the brakes even after all the screws were removed. I bought a set of Shimano brakes and you can tell the difference immediately since it actually allows free movement of the brakes before the cable are attached, minor adjustments on the tension screws and they work like a charm.
The front brakes can return to the open position, but makes loud noise when engaged. I'm too cheap to replace the front brakes too, so I mostly only use the back brakes. There is also a dramatic difference in how well the new back brakes can stop the wheel.
(YMMV since this may be considered a quality control issue)

The seat is not suitable for prolong ride, exacerbated by the lack of shocks on the back, you feel every bump.

I got this bike in large couple weeks ago for $105 after tax, + new back brake, locks, air pump, and lights for riding at night, I have spent around $170 in total.

Damn! I just pulled the trigger on this but now realized this is XL. For folks 6' to 6.5'. can someone comment if it is too large for 5'10 guy?

edit: after reading reviews canceled it.

My husband and I each snagged a bike with this deal. First, it came to my house quickly (under 24 hours). The bike is a beautiful matte red, especially once the stickers come off (which were simple to pull off). He assembled the bikes pretty easily. I took it on the briefest of rides around the block and was comfortable and everything worked. I'm sure once it's broken in I'll have more significant opinions. But for a tall person, it's hard to buy a starter bike on online secondhand markets. I was impressed with the quality at this price, at least for initial impressions.

Got one TY! I was able to add it to the cart by choosing assembly. In the cart I turned off the choice for assembly and purchased at the $84 price.

Bought one a few weeks back, definitely a budget, suburb bike. You won't be off-roading w/ this..

Since they have a lifetime warranty on most parts, imo no

I know it's cheap and probably just fine for most novice/ occasional riders, but read the reviews before buying and don't get your hopes up Wink

That and extra large probably best for riders 6'+ i mean I'd consider it for a big kid to take to school and if stolen not the end of the world

How does this compare to your typical bike rental places at tourist destinations? Trying to see how long I'd need to ride this to break even

This deal keeps popping up. What turned me off is people explaining that this is more like a $130 bike so the discount is a ruse and that it's super heavy. I'm looking for a cheap bike just for occasional bike trail rides, but I don't know if this is the one.

* Also, unless I'm mistaken the only difference in the sizes is the height of the seat post? I could be wrong.

This is a great deal!! I was able to order the Small last time and worked out well. I am 5,7" and rides solid. I'll be converting to Ebike, and see how it goes. With they have the small again...
