Wth lol. 5 inch is 5 inch. If someone ordered hoping the 5 inch screen will be bigger than your 6.1 inch screen on iPhone then clearly they don't know how simple numbers work and hence should have stayed away from ever purchasing any "smart" devices and then leaving comments about it.
Having said that I do own both Echo show 5 and 8 and 5 is definitely is small screen but it doesn't matter you use it mostly as a smart clock, to stream music or audiobooks and general notifications and stuff from Amazon. You can use this as a home camera when you are away and also use the drop-in feature to make video calls when you are away. And if you have it placed on your desk or pretty close to you, you can also it as video feed for your ring, wyze cameras and doorbells. But please be mindful that "5 inch screen" is actually 5 inches and will smaller in size than any screen which is larger than 5 inches..because you know that's how numbers work..

"Rip off don't buy ….. screen smaller than my iPhone……can't see it unless you are 2 feet away….. does less than the old ones …. A lot smaller …. It's a joke and a rip off …. want my money back

Alexa isn't great at answering random questions, but it's far superior for smart home devices than Google. I have a Google Nest Hub and a bunch of Nest Minis, and they're the buggiest hubs I've ever used. They are constantly disconnecting from my devices, crashing and restarting randomly, and respond to my voice less consistently than my Alexa devices. Alexa has been rock solid for home automation, and it's pretty universally agreed upon that they're far ahead of the others in that regard.

The one I got with a blink camera from Lowe's the end of July is essentially an echo dot now. Screen went out. Hasn't even been 3 months.

Wish I could customize the slideshow screen to not show tips and only show what I want and what I want alone.
This is my biggest problem with the Echo Show. If you have Prime, you can give your family members access to a "family vault" in the Amazon photos app to remotely add photos to your Echo Show's slideshow (adding photos doesn't require a prime account, just a free Amazon account). This would make it a very reliable photo frame, but instead it's suggesting you check out "today's yoga pose" or "dinosaur of the day" more times than it's showing the photos. Why limit a paying Prime customer's control over this?

Can we use it as a timer, showing count down like phone.

I want clock/timer to put on the walls.
No, it is hard to mount to the wall, maybe you need make a rack to put the Echo on

I'm amazed that Amazon is pairing this bulb with it's Alexa devices. I have eero, owned by amazon, and these bulbs disconnect ALLLLLL the time. My Kasa bulbs never have an issue. Shame, I was hoping to love the free bulbs but I returned them.

It's basically a smart alarm click. If you expect anything more you will be disappointed. If you want a smart alarm clock you will love it.

This is coming from someone who owns over 30 Alexa devices. It's good for what it is. Don't expect more.
