Hopefully everyone else lives near a Panera where the baguettes are actually soft and easy to bite into. I don't.

My Panera was out of baguettes and they offer no rain checks. They said they were out since 11am.

My store was also sold out when I checked this morning.

You can place an order for a future date and the offer will work. But you can't pre-order the free Sip club drink for future days, so you'll actually need to pay for something.

Those two rewards don't stack anyway. It'll lock up at checkout.

Panera app showed baguette loaf was sold out at my store. Since I was already there and know sometimtes, they have baked stuff availabe inside cafe although they show sold out online/app, I asked the employee. She was super nice and went to ask another employee about it. They said, go ahead and place an order though online/app, then we will give you a baguette loaf for free. So, I ordered a drink from unlimited sip club and a bagel. Paid like $1.70 with tax and they gave me a baguette loaf for free. It was around 7:30pm. I am very impressed by the customer service at my Panera cafe.

You can heat up baguette to make softer when it becomes harder. Google is your friend.

Wait, I got a baguette piece on Thursday with my meal and kept it with bread in a plastic bread. I noticed the baguette is still soft after 48+ hours. So, I guess it's like keeping cookies softer with some bread in a container, it also works for baguette.

Yeah but this is as a result of overbaking, not stale bread that is either a day old or left out in the open (both of which Panera also do.) The shell was hard the moment it cooled. I could steam it, but that's to revive stale bread that was properly baked.

Again, free is free... I'd grab one if I just happened to be purchasing something, but there's no way I'd make a purchase just to get one.

Hmmm, I have never made baguette and don't recall ever having overbaked baguette, so I don't really know. When I left a pice of baguette from Panera in the open air, it was rock hard next day. I didn't do any search at the time but just ate it as it was. I could have reheat it to make it softer.

Did you actually see the baguette being overbaked at your Panera? I am trying to figure out how you know it was overbaked and they keep overbaking their baguettes? Perhaps, the baguettes you have gotten there were always warm but hard?

i was happy to get free loaf od baguette today. I like my Panera cafes' baguettes. I have 2 cafes near me and both have good baguette.

I bake a lot of scratch bread myself. Stale bread has a different texture than bread with a very hard shell but soft inner. If it were on the early side, I would say it was from the night before, but it was later on in the afternoon so it'd likely been baked that morning. I don't think I've ever had a warm baguette from my local Panera, though.

I talk to the staff a lot about the equipment (mostly the coffee machines), so I glean quite a bit of info over time. Someone told me a couple weeks ago that their main oven isn't working properly. The thermostat controls are built into the door and they need to replace the entire door. It's like ten grand. (Panera is not a franchise you ever want to own, btw.)

I just put 2 and 2 together and figure they have oven temperature problems.

You probably make better baguette yourself anyway if you like to bake and bake a lot. Nothing compares to homemade bread. I don't make bread by hand but made bread with my new bread machine this week. Oh man, they were so good! I made milk bread and it was so soft.

I usually get tubs of cream cheese which are actually reasonably cheap. $3.49 for me.
