I have two of these machines that I paid a little over each for a year and a half ago. One is running the 5900 with a 6900XT and one running a 5900 with a 6800XT. You will have to remove some crappy pre-installed software, but the Alienware Command Center & AMD software are actually pretty solid for overclocking and managing system fans and leds.

You definitely want to go in and adjust the fan curve for the video card. This is a known AMD thing and not a Dell specific issue. The CPU is liquid cooled but it's not just adequate. The fans aren't bad, they're just server fans, but they do get really loud. You are going to want to go into ACC and either set the system to use the performance preset or create your own, but be prepared to deal with the noise. There's no way to keep this unit as cool as it needs to be and to have it quiet and stay stock. That being said I don't find the noise to be that bothersome because I game with a headset and others have not complained about the noise coming through the mic.

I have replaced the fans on one unit with some quality high static pressure fans and it did keep the unit quieter and a few degrees cooler. This upgrade cost me about 60 for the 3 fans and some thermal paste.

Outside of the noise the units have been rock solid. They've run everything I've thrown at it, from the Adobe suite of products, to COD and Microsoft Flight Simulator. One has done this while pushing 2 27" IPS monitors at 165hz and 1 34" VA panel also at 165hz flawlessly. I'm definitely happy with the purchases.

It's ok, the equivalent gpu is 3080. If it was 3080ti then maybe decent deal.

these used to cost fortune, i dont think its a bad deal. Its getting hard to pick since the amd 7 series just came out, plus the new video cards are on the way.

Whoa. Seems like a great deal. Bought the Costco 850 3060 deal. For 350 more, this would be a huge upgrade.

these alienware prebuilts need to be phased out already , the price and specs appear good on paper but the thermals are so bad that it makes the pc underperform making it equivalent otherwise to specs that are a downgrade to what you actually pay for with these rigs

Specs don't tell the entire story. I'd stay away. Watch Gamers Nexus on YouTube doing a breakdown of an Alienware prebuilt PC.
