As stated in the title, this may be YMMV but wanted to share. Here are the steps I took to get Verizon online customer support to offer $1000 trade-in over 36mo via email (screenshot below) as well as waiving the $35/line upgrade fee for 4 phones/lines. This is enough to get the equivalent of New Customer pricing as an existing customer. My trade in phones are iPhone 11 Pros, FWIW.

1 - After the new iPhones launched, I chatted with Verizon online chat asking if they could match the new customer pricing deal for existing customers otherwise I would just switch to get $1000 trade-in and free activation from another carrier. They declined.

2 - Approx 1 week later, I received a "just for you" offer via email. Screenshots attached. I chatted with Verizon online chat again, this time with my cart loaded with the 4 phones I would purchase and asked if they would waive the upgrade fee. They declined. I again said other carriers would waive that fee ($140 for 4 phones) but they said the fee was accounted for in their new trade-in offer of $1000. I said ok and emptied my cart.

3 - 5 days later, Verizon sent a follow-up "your offer will expire in 2 days" email. I again loaded my cart with the 4 iPhone 14 Pros I would purchase and used chat to ask if they would waive the upgrade fee. This time they did. The customer service rep added all of the phones and upgrades on his end and pushed the final order through. Screenshot of one of the phones on the final order attached.

Just asking for what I wanted netted an additional savings of $235 per phone or $940 in my case.

For myself and I think most others the 36 month contract kills it. Most others, including xFinity, are 24 months.

Don't disagree at all. My heartburn is not taking their money if I need to pay them full plan price anyway. ATT and Verizon are the only workable service options here in KC and they're both 36mo now.

What phone plan are you on? they seem to remove good promotions, for anyone who is on older plans

Can you do in-store trade-in if the transaction for the new devices is done online? Sure would be nice, if so. I've done the mail-in deal before and it was a hassle w lost boxes.

5G Play More. The email fine text lists the plans that are eligible. I get a discount through my employer so that helps.

Do you have xFinity in your area? xFinity is runs on Verizon network (MVNO). Plans are cheaper and they have allot of promotions right now especially if you are one of their broadband consumers.

Thank you. I just noticed that on the website. You can't view pictures on the mobile app other than the small thumbnail.

Dang this beats the $700 I got, but at least I got to stay on my Start plan. I'm doubtful they would offer this with that. Upgrading the line would be an extra $10 per month or $360 total per line. I don't like the idea of what is essentially a 3 year contract, but I usually keep phones for 3-4 years and I have no plans to move to another service. I waited all of last year for a good deal on the iPhone 13 without this multi month credit BS, but never found anything reasonable for unlocked or Verizon phones. This time I just decided to pull the trigger. This is a great heads up and I wish I saw this yesterday instead of now. I don't want to go through the hassle of returning the iPhone 14s I got to replicate this deal.

Yes ...hence the mention
Believe I learned of it as it is mentioned in another trade post on the slippery deals
