Funny to read snarky comments about the olive oil police when they're just trying to help you not put fake oil into your body thinking it's something else. How awful of them.
Where are the olive oil police? I need to know how inferior this is to organic cold pressed single source EVOO from Tuscany.
This is oil from various countries blended together so there is a higher chance of it being "fake" but YMMV. Check the lower star reviews for the oil police. I personally find the Spanish olive oil from Costco to have a better flavor and it is cheaper.

What's the brand name for that olive oil from Costco? I'm going grocery shopping today, Thanks!

It is Kirkland Signature 100% Spanish Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It has a SGS label confirming "traceability from cultivation to bottling"

It's their pompous nature that turns us off. It's like when a white college girl who has never left Wisconsin in her entire life starts reviewing Mexican restaurants and claiming they are more authentic than actual restaurants in Mexico.

This is Slickdeals, where political correctness is centered on how cheaply we can ruin our bodies with subpar foods and such.

I understand people can come off snooty and pompous but I'm not sure that's a good comparison. This is literally people trying to save others from false advertising by posting legitimate studies about the purity of the olive oil.

A better analogy would be like if multiple news stories came out about Taco Bell not actually serving beef in their beef tacos and every time a TB thread came up, those people rushed in to talk about how people shouldn't eat TB beef tacos and should instead go to a nicer taco place that has real beef. And, while some people would say, "So what, I do what I want and TB is what I can afford!" I don't think the people warning them should be considered snooty in doing so.

So did I. You just need to use the digital coupon on top of the sale price to get it for $9.99 for those interested.

Only buy large bottles of any olive oil if you use it relatively quickly. You don't want it hanging around, degrading in flavor and quality. Best to buy what you'll use up in a few months, or less. Trader Joe's liters of extra virgin, cold pressed, multi-country sourced, runs around $7-$8 a bottle. Lasts me around 2-3 months used daily.

I wasn't getting the 10% coupon yesterday, but I am today -- in for one for sautéeing.

Also, for a bolder flavor, this seems like a not too bad deal too (also had 10% coupon) for 21¢/oz:

Pompeian Spanish Bold Extra Virgin Olive Oil, First Cold Pressed, Strong, Fruity Flavor, Perfect for Dipping and Drizzling, 32 FL. OZ.

I know you are being sarcastic but I'll share my thoughts. I've used a variety of this brand over the last year from deals like this and it's been fantastic. For anybody who isn't an olive oil snob, this stuff is great!

If you're in California or ever run across this stuff in a health store - grab some! It's not certified organic but it is organically grown (they don't bother to certify because every press sells out). I never really knew what olive oil was supposed to taste like before trying this stuff....
https://www.barianioliveoil.com/
I am not sure if this is the same product but the Olive Oil Times, whoever they are, had this to say
"As for the California brands just one, Bariani, exhibited sensory defects sufficient to fail extra virgin sensory standards." So, like beauty, taste may be on the tongue of the taster.

I found most of the discussion here enlightening, except for the sniping. What I learned here and kind of concerns me is that the Pompeian brand, one I have bought in the past, is under scrutiny for false labeling and this deal is about the same price for twice as much oil as the EVOO organic I usually get in the grocery store. It makes me wonder about the quality.

Not trying to be snob, I think I will look for an alternative. Oh, and I am from Wisconsin.

Sorry, but no one under 30 thinks money grows on trees anymore. It shoots out of metal boxes and out of walls.
